It all started one morning when 2 caterpillars found residence in my curry leaf plant ..
I was excited to be playing host to them .. They nibbled patiently through the day .. And I exactly knew what Eric Carle was talking about in the big fat caterpillar ...
They were such a pretty sight though .. Unobtrusive , perfectly camouflaged and going about their business in glorious silence ..
They had eaten through most of the plant and I started sending out gentle requests to them to get into their cocoon .. Had they not eaten enough ?
The next day I find them gone . Was sad to not find them and angry that they chose to leave ..
But no .. They were right there .. In a leaf like Cocoon .. Perfectly in sync with their surroundings ready for their next act ..hanging by a slender silvery thread to the fragile branch
I watched and wondered ..and a week slipped by ..
A morning again , as I open the door .. A huge pretty butterfly .. flutters away from the just open cocoon ..Just as if he was waiting to bid me adieu ..
Life in all it's splendor .. Beautiful , miraculous and wonderful .. Right at my door step ..
