Date with the Classroom

I turned up.. for a  date i had set up  a year and half ago .. with the classroom..

After many a hiccup and rough and tumble .. land I did at the class room of MA ( English) , School of Distance Education, English and Foreign Languages University , Hyderabad..

Verdant green campus, big airy classrooms, teachers committed to their craft and an excited me !

Nip in the air mornings, canteen chai and heart warming time with friends  - All added bonuses..to the sheer happiness of being back in a classroom

4 days of classes ,a day's break followed by 4 days of exams..
Days that reinforced for me very clearly - "I Love" & and "I Can "

Pet presence

The new year saw an addition to my circle...A Cat !
He /She is a beauty white with dark brown and black patches .. adorable..
He is apparently a stray .. would sing mournful meows.. enough to stir me up and take notice.. initially i would leave some milk for him .. which i found  was to his liking..









Gradually we became friendly with me taking more interest in his welfare!..Started observing him more closely, figured he loved to be petted and would go belly up.. so i could tickle him.He loved to play with our door mat and loved his perch on the bench in which i place my plants.. Though i fashioned a bed for him from an old pillow cover.. he is yet to warm up to it..


But Kitty, whom i am tentatively calling T .. you warm my heart!
and Voila, i have a pet presence in my life!

Adieu 2013

As i catch the  last sunrise  of 2013 , I count the many gifts the year held for me...

It was one of the tougher years , when i got myself into all kinds of trouble but also the year that saw me get more creative, get fitter, find a wonderful teacher and enjoy my space in time.

Thank you 2013 for the tough lessons.. you taught me well and firmly put me on a path of recovery and

dis-covery .

Adieu 2013!You take with you many chapters of my life that i closed, re-visited,re-wrote,cherished and hand me a new book to write some more..
Can i ask for more?!

Space in time

Time .. That elusive fiend! Who waits for no one .. Constantly slipping by ..An enemy creeping up for ever ..keeping you on edge ... Racing you all the while .. Not a  moments respite ....
A constant reminder of your mortality .. A mocking bird and does he fly !!

Can you befriend time ?Make him wane and wax for you ?? Stretch him longer when going is good .. Will him to Shrink when it's not so good ? Stop that alarm from rudely reminding you that he is up!

Yes .... If you to choose to befriend him! 

Think of his goodness !.. He is eternal .. Always showing up .. Even your darkest hour does pass in his flight .. Every wound  is wiped clean by him .. Isn't that a magical friend to have ?

How do you befriend someone so complex ? 

By choosing to be his friend .. First up by making peace with him! By relishing every thing he has to offer .. Every moment of him .. Good , bad  and ugly .. 

By appreciating him .. By respecting him .. By loving him .. 

By creating your space in him .. With him .. .. Your own magic bubble .. In this space .. He  can stop :) 

In this space you can feel his caressing presence .. You can drink from his soothing , gurgling flow .You can learn from the lessons he has to offer ..

You can fly in his magical wings ..

Seek your friend  ..He  is just around the corner ...

create your own space with him and have the time of your life !!

Peas in a Pod

Peas in a pod..

They thrive in a warm cover.. nurtured by the same light,drinking from the same source, almost alike but each unique..

P and I are like that.. My best friend , my soul sister.. spent a week in her nourishing presence and came back energized with zest for life re-awakened!


Friends give our spirits wings and a reason to take flight..i read somewhere..you do that to me P..

Butterfly story

It all started one morning when 2 caterpillars found residence in my curry leaf plant ..

I was excited to be playing host to them .. They nibbled patiently through the day .. And I exactly knew what Eric Carle was talking about in the big fat caterpillar ...

They were such a pretty sight though .. Unobtrusive , perfectly camouflaged and going about their business in glorious silence ..

They had eaten through most of the plant and I started sending out gentle requests to them to get into their cocoon .. Had they not eaten enough ?

The next day I find them gone . Was sad to not find them and angry that they chose to leave ..

But no .. They were right there .. In a leaf like Cocoon .. Perfectly in sync with their surroundings ready for their next act ..hanging by a slender silvery thread to the fragile branch


I watched and wondered ..and a week slipped by ..

A morning again , as I open the door .. A huge pretty butterfly .. flutters away from the just open cocoon ..Just as if he was waiting to bid me adieu ..

Life in all it's splendor .. Beautiful , miraculous and wonderful .. Right at my door step ..

Back Again

Phew!

I am back here after a really long time.
Not that there were no slices from my life worth writing about .. just that have enjoyed the silence a wee bit more!

As  i take new roots in a new place .. my amazement , wonder and curiosity are re-kindled and am back at  one of my favorite haunts.. this space!playing with words and doling out  inanities albeit profound for me!

Thrissur , Kerala is home now! Very close to my original roots and heart .. so its like coming back Home !
